CAPSL Chair
We now know that
the next Conference will be held in Hong Kong and I am currently with colleagues
there and within the Commonwealth Lawyers Association to identify a successor
Chair of CAPSL
Commonwealth Lawyers
Association (CLA) and CAPSL traditions require us to have a Hong Kong based
senior public sector lawyer to be Chair of CAPSL until the end of the proposed
CAPSL meeting in Hong Kong in 2009.
The Chair will be involved in
organising a CAPSL meeting to be held in conjunction with next year’s
Commonwealth Law Conference in Hong Kong. The CAPSL meeting usually also
includes a ½ day CAPSL seminar on legal issues of particular relevance to public
sector lawyers.
Any relatively senior Honk
Kong based public sector lawyer (practitioner or academic) can be considered.
Expressions of interest sent to the Secretary CAPSL will be considered and
submitted to the President of CLA for endorsement.
